Our Story

For our family — Rick, Christy, and Charlie — bikes have always been a big part of life. All three of us raced mountain bikes in Western North Carolina, and Christy and Rick also spent years racing road bikes throughout the Southeast United States. Along the way, cycling became much more than a sport. It became a community.

Many of our closest friendships were formed through cycling, and those relationships have had a lasting impact on our lives. The cycling community has given us so much — encouragement, adventure, connection, and lifelong friends.

Through Voso Cycle Project, we saw an opportunity to share that same joy, freedom, and sense of possibility with the island we love. By providing bicycles, gear, safety equipment, and support to communities in Andros and beyond, our hope is to give back in a meaningful way — one bike at a time.

Cycling changed our lives, and we believe it can make a difference in the lives of others too.

Why Andros

Andros Island has been a meaningful part of our family story for generations. Rick was almost born on the island and spent the first several years of his life there. During that time, his family built close friendships and lasting connections with the people of Andros — relationships that have continued through the years and are still special to us today.

Andros is more than a place we love to visit. It is a place that feels woven into our family history. The island, the people, and the community hold a very special place in our hearts.

Voso Cycle Project is one way we hope to give back to a place that has given so much to our family. By sharing our love of cycling, we hope to support the community, create opportunities, and provide something meaningful for the children, teens, and families of Andros.
